The Origin

I was brought on to completely rebrand a media arts program from the ground up. The core objective was to design an overarching umbrella brand—the KHS Network (KHSN)—that would oversee, unify, and elevate multiple student-produced shows and broadcasts under one cohesive, professional banner.

The Production

To establish KHSN as a legitimate network, I designed a logo that is timeless, bold, and instantly recognizable from a distance. Drawing inspiration from iconic broadcast giants like NBC and ABC, I crafted a clean, highly legible design that honors local history by integrating the traditional Kankakee feather. Adding a subtle drop shadow gives the mark a 3D feel and the necessary gravitas to stand out.

The Edit

To complete the broadcast package, I designed and edited a universal video intro built to attach seamlessly to any KHSN program. Inspired by the premium, cinematic feel of the HBO Max branding, I utilized dynamic moving colors to create visual momentum. For the sound design, I had an artist arrange and edit a slowed-down, dramatic version of the school song, tying the modern visual identity back to the community's roots.

Building a Timeless Identity

A great broadcast logo needs to survive the creative test of time. The KHSN mark was built for ultimate versatility—bold enough to read clearly on a small screen, and clean enough to look sharp on crew clothing, studio signage, and official merchandise. It replaces outdated graphics with a modern, professional standard.

Setting the Tone

A network's intro is its handshake with the audience. By pairing fluid, moving color gradients with a custom, cinematic arrangement of the school song, this bumper establishes a premium, highly produced feel the second the broadcast begins.
